How can some people be prescribed benzos everyday?

I’m prescribed as needed for panic attacks and I just found out some people actually get prescribed 1-2 doses a day every day. How is that possible? Wouldn’t that fuck you up or cause problems down the line?
I’ve failed SSRIs and pretty much every anxiety alternative and now I’m wondering if this would be an option for me since I have severe panic disorder…but I’m scared it’s gonna fuck me up long term.
Is it actually safe to be taking say .25 clonazepam every single day?
