Hello, I have a slight dilemma id like some advice on please!? Im going away early next year (to Turkey to be precise); And I self medicate with Benzodiazepines daily. I am prescribed other medicines which may be an issue too (Sertraline, Mirtazapine & Buprenorphine [Espranor/Subs] ) [hoping/presuming as have valid prescription these wont be an issue…].

Problem is im currently not prescribed any Benzos though, although have been prescribed them sporadically over the years albeit in small amounts; so that would be on my record but I currently dont have a valid prescription for any benzos. Now I do have UK pharma benzo’s that I can put one of my prescription labels on which would be fine unless fully investigated into prior to the flight. Im not talking about trying to ‘smuggle’ a huge amount of controlled drugs into another country, merely take along a strip of 14 x 10mg Diazepam or something just to see me through. Im not a raging benzo addict and can go a couple of days without but 14 days without might be an issue lol, at the very least id have some horrible rebound anxiety and feel like absolute garbage, at most potentially full blown benzo w/d [I don’t believe I’m quite at that stage as mentioned I can go 2-3 days without but do feel unsettled and craving by day 2] I try to keep dosing sensible and only on an evening; Id say I take the Equivalent to 20-40mg Diazepam a night most nights, (i use diff benzos to keep it mixed up and for certain purposes I.E Loraz, Clonaz, Diaz, Alpraz & Nitraz mainly, just using diaz as an equivalence)

Alternatively I have been prescribed small amounts of Diazepam in the past, and im sure id be able to book an appointment before i go away, explain im a very nervous flyer and panic in different countries (which is true esp the flying part) and maybe get a small script for a few 5mg Diazepam (about as good as it gets in the UK, for me anyway) Problem is my habit far exceeds 7 x 5mg Diazepam over a 14 day period.

My only other option would be to come clean about my habit in the hopes that the doc would prescribe me a sufficient amount to see me through the holiday.

Its either that, or just chance it with some benzos with old pharmacy stickers on the box in the hopes they arent even picked up upon and if they are the prescription stickers will do. As i say i am prescribed a fair few meds so will be taking a fair few with me anyway but nothing more than personal medicinal usage.

Anyone been in a similar boat and found a solution?

Also, whats the law on benzos in turkey does anyone know? Are they readily available OTC as they are in some other Middle Eastern/European countries?
