So Iāve been seeing the same psych for 5 years kpins Prozac seraquil and was prescribing me every adhd med known for about a year, stimulant weāre making me a total mess but I didnāt realize what was causing it until a year in of trying the stims, during that time my doc started lowing my kpin dose cause of course with stimulants I was slightly less anxious.
Two month ago I asked to stop with the stimulants none of them have worked right for me, actually they caused more issues then helped and Iāve managed my adhd for my whole life with out them, so weighing pros and cons for me it made sense to drop those meds, now she wonāt fix my kpin dose and actually at our last appointment she said I should find a different provider āif all I want is Kolonapinā (essentially dropping me) this is an untrue statement think sheās just tying to save face cause the combo of meds she was giving me isnāt really a smart thing to do. I was trying to work out a solution a middle ground for the benzos, I wasnāt even asking to go back to my full script that I got for 4 years just at least 1/day instead of a half a pillā¦. My anxiety isnāt just magically gone no.
So Iām out of a doctor until I find one and not sure what Iām going to do given the fact that Iāve been on benzos for 5 years and cold turkey really isnāt a option, I have two week to find a new doc before I run out.
she basically just left me to fend for myselfā¦. None of it makes sense never had an issue with her until now, but after our last appointment I donāt really trust her regardless of benzos or not she sort of seems uneducated and slightly to emotionally to be a psych doc especially if she thinks she could just stop my benzos with out a proper tapper.
so questions if I go to a new doctor will they continue my same medication? cause thatās all I was asking my doctor to do, just go back to what we knew worked right for years and she just blew up about it, also does a doctor not have any responsibility to the patient when they have been giving known drugs that cause dependency to a patient for 5 years? Can they really just say good luck and bye?
