What's with all the Mixon revisionism?
Post Body

Sure, Mixon plays well at the Texans and I'm really happy for him. He is an awesome guy, absolutely.

But last season (and actually the season before and I think even earlier) people were cussing out our FO for not cutting Mixon and were blaming him for our bad run game.

Hell, lots of posts were about giving Brown more snaps over Mixon last season.

I don't remember any post saying "we must keep Mixon".

Does anybody really believe Mixon would elevate our running game compared to Moss and Brown?

Or that we would be 6-2 with Mixon as opposed to the others?

Let's just be happy for an awesome ex-Bengal.

And my personal opinion is: our running game definitely is an issue, but our running backs are not.

Comments

Mixon fits the Texans scheme better. That's pretty much the long and short of it. Mixon still goes down on the first hit a lot, but he's more efficient in how they run it vs how Taylor attempts to run it. Chase Brown fits Taylor's offense much better.
