Strange and out of the ordinary behaviour

I left Casper home alone as I went on a weekend trip. He was left with a cat sitter coming twice a day to take care of him. Last night was his first night alone at home and he made a huge mess, tearing up the whole paper towel roll and spreading it all over the house. He is a very well behaved cat and has never done anything like this before. He never scratches the furniture, always uses his post. He’s never even had an accident anywhere in the home since I got him. Any reasons as to why he may be acting this way? Is it a cause for concern?
