Bailout pommel… why?!

Does anybody know the purpose of the pommel on the Bailout? Is this intended to be the “glass breaker”?
Just got this knife and love the similar feel to the Bugout. However, this weird pommel makes the draw out of my pocket feel somewhat awkward in comparison to the Bugout.
I’ve saw a few “delete pommel” threads upon googling. Has anybody switched theirs out?
