How's the casting actually?

After so many (too many) BD seasons watched - got to ask - do you have any idea how producers cast the crew?
It seems sooo random and it doesn't make sense! Some are not good TV, others are not fun at all and so many are downright inexperienced incompetents - which is kinda surprising if u're spending $$$ and it's a TV show too.

They are all prepped and backgrounded more thoroughly than you might think. While some details might escape producers but overall they are casted for personalities, behavior and (lack of) experience to create the reality show that we all see.
They also get paid somewhere between $5-10K per episode.
