Hey guys, I just arrived to the country 10 days ago, and I even though I study at KU Leuven and currently live there, I'd like to live in Brussels (today I went to Brussels for the first time to check a studio out, and I just confirmed that I´m meant to live there). In this regard, in order to make my 3-times-a-week trip smother from Brussels to Leuven, people have recommended to ONLY look for studios that are close to the Central/North/Midi stations from Brussels, and that way I should only have to i) walk 5 min from my place to the train station ii) take the train from Brussels to Leuven iii) walk 15 min from the train station to my Faculty at KU Leuven.
However, apart from the fact that today I did all that process and I found out something kind of discouraging (even though my train trip from Leuven to Brussels only took me 20 minutes, the trip from Brussels to Leuven took me 50 minutes because it had multiple stops and I didn´t expect that to happen), someone living in Brussels have told me that I don't really need to live close to one of those 3 main stations, since Brussels have more than them (for example, the Schuman Station). Is this true? Is this feasable? That person told me that even though there are those 3 main train stations, the train stops in other places as well (such as the Schuman Station), so I could also look for apartments close to there. Is this true? I´ve also seen that there´s also a Luxembourg station. Do trains from Leuven pass by every 10 minutes, as to the Central Station? Do trains from Leuven pass by the Schuman station every 10 minutes? I don't have a clue, and my point is that I´d like my trip to be as smooth as possible and I would like to avoid taking a metro a train because it would be too much (in my country we don´t have metros nor trains, so I´m just getting used to the European system and I wouln´t want my trips to be that complex). Or perhaps you would advise me to only look for studios close to the Central/North/Midi stations in order to avoid all this discussion? (despite of the fact that it´d be really hard to find available studios to move within the next 2 weeks in only those places)
I´m opened to everything you might have to tell me/advise me. Thanks!!!
