I went to the Belgian Gran Prix 2 weeks ago with 2 friends, we drove from Italy with my car and spend some days there. On the Saturday of the Gran Prix, we were going to Spa circuit and my friend was driving. It was 7am so not a lot of cars in the highways, and since we were in rush to get there ASAP, my friend reached 180 km/h (I didnât even realised as I was sleeping, he told me later something like âI am so surprised your old car can do 180â). The limit in the highway is 120km/h and checking on Google I saw there were some speed cameras along the way. He basically drove for one hour at 140/160/180. How fucked are we? Whatâs the fine for going 180 on a 120 highway? Does the camera take a picture of the driver so I can force him to pay and deal with the consequences (in case he denies later, since the car is mine). Should I expect a fine to come to my house in Italy? I am really worried about the consequences for me since it was my car, and if this guy tries to deny driving (I donât know him a lot, heâs a friendâs friend). Whatâs the fine?
