I have been running since mid-June, and have been relatively consistent in running, have completed five 5k events so far.
I have signed up for a 10k on Sep 14.
In preparation for the 10k, I had planned to run atleast 3 10k before the event. I ran the first one last week. Today was the 2nd one.
Although we are (again) in a heat wave and temps are expected to exceed 100 today, I found some time in the morning and went for a run to one of the parks I usually go to - its pretty shaded and cooler.
I did an easy run, making sure to keep on checking myself not to run too fast. I could finish the run feeling fine, and that is super exciting to me!
I ended up improving my time as well. The last 10k was abt 75mins, and today I did in abt 63 mins. I am excited to see how the 10k event goes. I think I will take a few days rest and try another 10k run few days before the event. Is that a good idea?
