Engine stalls when it is warmed up.
Post Body

Hey everyone. My uncle bought a kit car a few months ago that uses the type one engine, and he has run into a bit of a problem.

After the engine is warmed up and the choke is off, it will cut off every time when he goes to push in the clutch, and we are trying to figure out the problem. It will crank right back up and stall again every time.

The car idles fine and stays running while the engine is still cold.

A local guy that works on the classic vw's said that it is most likely sucking in air since it only affects it when it is warmed.

I am just curious where/how we would check for potential spots that would be sucking in air.

Are there any other possibilities that could cause the engine to stall like that?

Thanks for the help
