Hi all,
Like the title suggests - I am going to be in Montreal from 8/17 to 8/22. I am going to be coming from Portland, OR so I am no stranger to good beer and just looking for the best of the local stuff. Needs to be accessible by public transit as I will not have a car, staying with a friend in HoMa. Tend to prefer IPAs, lagers, and stouts, but I am open to anything and am largely motivated by novelty (which is to say, stuff I can’t get where I am!)
What have you got for me?
Bonus: I’ve also heard there’s a great cocktail scene in Montreal so I’ll take those kinds recommendations as well.
Thank you!
EDIT: thanks to everyone for all the kind words and recommendations. I ended up going to Ile de Garde, Saint Bock, one or two little bottle shops, and Siboire. Siboire was the best of the bunch, though the food and drink were both excellent at Ile de Garde. Saint Bock was very hit or miss but the staff was incredibly friendly and I ended up spending about half the day there just shooting the shit with them. Got a couple four-packs and bottles from Avant-Garde, Siboire, and Dieu de Ciel at home to explore. Thanks again for everything, y’all, I look forward to seeing more of the city soon!
