How to remove stickiness from hair close to scalp when washing?

I tried Redken anti-frizz shampoo with ultra soft mega conditioner per my stylist. This is my second time using it and 3" and closer to my scalp feels sticky/thick when wet. I only condition from roots up and I try to dilute the shampoo with I put it on my scalp What else should I do? Is it build up?
