Long time beard poster here. After trying a ton of different mustache waxes out there, I've finally determined a winner.
Surf wax.
Find an organic one (preferably tropical water temp wax), run it under a hot water tap for 10 seconds, then just jostle it back and forth on your mustache. Best hold I've found in a wax and a $4 bar of wax will last you a decade.
