Thinking about shaving down to skin and starting a regrowth
Post Body

As the title has implied, it’s been a decade of having my beard. I trim, moisturize, and keep it as healthy as I can. With that last part, I also have done some serious work to it in the way of coloring it. I have bleached and lift my deep brown beard into platinum blond at least 10x. It’s a fun time while the color stays, but my curl pattern is not only kinky, but also incredibly tight in places. I have only ever trimmed off dead ends as the color fades and new length grows in. What I’m truly wondering, is if I shave down to bare skin, exfoliate properly to prevent ingrown hairs and let the new beard grow through, is there a chance that if I get into a deeper maintenance routine to train my curls better, my beard could be better this time around?

Any advice or experience is so appreciated!

Sidebar, I feel like if or when I go through with this I’m going to look nuts for a little bit 😭 32 with a baby face just turns into β€œwho’s this weird high schooler?” πŸ˜…πŸ˜…
