What’s the best thing to fix this little patchiness?

Can’t post on r/beardadvice. Should I focus on trimming the front to match the sides? Or is there a product that can help fix the sides? I was thinking about some beard cream or oil but I’m not sure which would be best or if it’d even help. I’m 31M, haven’t been clean shaven in years but it hasn’t always been like this. Or does it not even look that bad and I’m just overthinking it?
