I have surprisingly often been asked the question: Are you willing to have a disabled sub?

There are two types of answer to the question. The first is the simple one. Absolutely yes. I encourage people with disabilities to explore their own kinks with confidence and excitable curiosity.

The second response is the more complex one. It's a "yes but...". Here are my thoughts. They are mine and they are constantly evolving as I learn more and more about different disabilities.

I have only ever had subs with physical disabilities. I have very little to no experience with disabilities involving neuro diversity. As such I don't have any neuro diverse subs.

I take my duty of care towards my subs extremely seriously and feel that I would not be able to carry out this duty to a high standard for a sub that is neuro diverse. I simply do not have the experience, understanding and insights to be safe.

I have had a few physically disabled subs though and they have been brilliant fun. You only have to look at r/disablednudes to see the kinkiness and confidence that is out there.

My interest in a disabled sub is the same as that in an able bodied sub. I look for obedience, willingness and commitment. I don't have a "disability kink". Plenty of people do though have disability kink.

Having a disabled sub requires more planning and consideration to ensure activities are suited to their disability. This is especially true for more extreme kinks such as CNC, rope play, impact play etc. They are all possible though. I've had huge fun exploring extreme kinks with disabled subs. I found that the detailed planning aspect is actually a pleasure in itself as it provides a preview of what's coming up.

Both Dom and Sub need to be grown up and realistic about the activities but there is a ton of fun and pleasure to be had.
