Post Body

Watch your drinks everyone.

Drugged and SA’d at the event. Posting this because I’m going crazy sitting around not being able to do anything about it.

If you see someone who looks out of it, slumped over, in any way incapacitated- ask them at least three questions: about their safety, who they are with, if they need someone else, who you can call, how to get them safe. Find an employee, alert another person that you are suspicious. Sit with them and whoever is with them, even if they say “i’m their ____, they are fine.” People must have assumed I was too drunk, but I was drugged, unable to communicate, terrified, and my partner and best friend were in the other room. Nobody got them. Please please look out for others, assume the best in people, but prepare for the worst. Nobody stopped him or stepped in, because the assumption was likely that I was being looked after and had just overdone it. He was a part of the friend group that night, many people knew him and therefore never considered he had just sexually assaulted me in a public and busy space.

Please look out for others. Being drugged is terrifying and chemical restraints are equally as traumatic as the sexual assault for some. Being able to do nothing while people walk past and do not check on you, while someone reaches under your clothes and makes it look like they are doing something else. Nobody stepped in. Predators are bold and opportunistic, they are careful and intelligent and manipulative. Always assume the person who is down and out needs protection and an extra set of eyes on them.
