Tanks are team vehicles now. Drivers need to start thinking that way.
Post Body

In all previous battlefield games, tank drivers were essentially lone wolves. They might have a gunner but it was kind of an irrelevant position since all the movement and killing power was with the tank driver.

That has changed in Battlefield 1. The tanks in this game are team based, with the majority of the firepower spread out between its occupants. What I've been seeing a lot of though is drivers still handling the tank to mostly benefit themselves. "Greedy tank drivers" if you will.

Every time I end up in a tank with a greedy driver the trip is always short. The driver either zeros in on one kill he can make, ignoring all the other enemies and preventing his passengers from being able to take any shots, or he outright turns the tank in the direction a passenger is shooting to steal the kill. This behavior always severely cuts down the firepower of the tank and usually gets it killed pretty quickly.

So here's some obvious suggestions I've come up with:

Landships- Drivers, all your firepower is with the cannons on the sides. If you encounter an enemy tank, point straight at it so both gunners can shoot the enemy. Leaving only one side to shoot back really lowers your chances of winning the engagement.

Heavy Tanks- For the love of god, just because you have the cannon doesn't mean you should be the one to engage every last enemy. You have 5 other positions covering every side of the tank. That is devastating and near invulnerable firepower if you take advantage of it. When you roll up on an objective, position your tank so that your cannon faces the area with the heaviest opposition. But at the same time, also make sure your sides are able cover areas of the objective.

Just in general, be mindful of your passengers and their firepower. Plan for them accordingly when positioning your tank. Be a team player in a team vehicle. If you can't do that just use light tanks and artillery trucks and save everyone a death.
