If you see a friendly tank covered in smoke, including the one you're in. There is a good chance that tank is in desperate need of repair.
It's okay, the smoke is made of mostly water and will probably feel quite refreshing after all that grime and debris you've been running through. It will also give you adequate cover, hiding your repair tool and your heat signature under it's protective cloak.
If your tank driver, who you've probably never met until now, uses smoke screens; Don't take this moment to run somewhere else so you can be cut down by the enemy vehicles. Nor should you sit on the machine gun, firing blinding out hoping to wound or kill your assailants. Hop out behind this stranger who was generous enough to not drive away from the spawn alone. No words need to be said, thank him by applying your years of experience with these war machines to his own pride and glory. He will probably thank you by protecting you from enemy forces with his coaxial machine gun while you work your magic.
And that's just the benefits for you and the driver! Keeping that beautiful beast alive is a blessing upon your team as well. Holding the enemy back so they don't barge in and slaughter your front lines with their bullets, knifes, and fully functional tanks. Instead focusing on the metal behemoth that has bravely chosen to stand toe-to-toe with enemy forces on their own flags.
So please. If you see smoke, give them a repair.
