Batman homework assignment

I have a 10 year old who i don't homeschool, but once a month we watch a good film, and she gets homework on it. She has to do a 5 paragraph summary, read a book related to the film's subject matter, and write an essay about a specific part of the movie.
This month, it's The Dark Knight (2008). I wanted to ask specifically for comic recommendations for her to read after seeing the film, and what essay question you'd pose in my situation.
