I was watching a video and it brought up a great point from Batman Begins. When Ra’s hands Bruce the sword to kill the prisoner, Bruce says “I’m not executioner”. I think this choice of wording and the distinction it makes is very poignant. Bruce is saying he won’t premeditatively murder someone. Which is not the same as killing in self defense. I think a lot of people who ascribe to the “Batman should never kill period” or any superhero for that matter are a bit ridiculous. It’s just a more realistic interpretation of the rule to be “no murder” instead of “no killing”.
