I personnaly love the 80s era and the reimagination of character like robin and two face. I think it‘s very well done. Plus I always enjoy a storyline with a beginning and end so that deaths mean something and not reappear as it‘s normal in the comic world. If you like me are not huge on the current Batman Comics series, I would definitely recommend the 89 series. They are only 7 issues out thus far.
I grew up on the Tim Burton movies and Batman Returns was the first Batman movie I saw in theaters so I was looking forward to this, especially with Sam Hamm writing, but so far it’s been disappointing. The story is too busy with no payoffs, Batman and Bruce are practically nonentities, and it never really captures that gothic deco aesthetic from Burton’s movies
