Is this supposed to be a Lovecraftian take on Gaslight, or it’s own thing entirely?

I really liked this one, up until the end, just got a little too out there for my liking (should have seen it coming though).
But I was kind of disappointed, having just watched Gotham by Gaslight and seeing this costume, I thought it might be a sequel or at least still a Gaslight related story. It was still fun but it seems like you can’t really tell anymore stories from this timeline considering everything that happens.
I don’t know, what do you guys think of it?
