Hello to you all, amazing and kinky people. It's been slightly over a year since I created this subreddit, and I wanted to do a little retrospective.
TL;DR: it's been awesome, you are awesome, and I may write more kinky stuff too. Please let people know this place exist!
I first created this sub as a means to discuss and share about this niche fetish, one I found very little information about online. Be it in my circle of kinksters, munches (pre-covid) or even sites like fetlife, few people seemed to know or care about it. It has profoundly warmed my heart that so many terrific redditors have participate in this sub. I had the opportunity to discuss this kink with dozens of people, and I'm really glad for it. Despite not being a native English speaker, this hasn't seemed to be a problem in any way either! (my apologies for my lackluster language at times).
The good: I'm happy with the relative success this sub has had! I advertised only twice, at the very begging, so I'm inclined to believe most subscribers found it serendipitously whilst browsing. Although I was not expecting people to use it as a place to schedule RP or play sessions, this is oc part of the kink too, and obviously allowed. Based on upvotes, posts describing specific experiences seemed to be the most popular. It seems also there is a lot of more traffic (views) than subscribers, which is fairly normal for a kink-focused 18 sub.
The less good: Unfortunately, despite interest for reading them, there hasn't been as much discussion of experiences. Tips, tricks, things to try or avoid, etc. Chatting with some of the users on here, they had experience with scenes of bathroom control, but weren't interest in writing posts of comments on it for the most part, and this was a little disappointing.
The bad: SPAM. For a 441 subscriber sub, the amount of SPAM I had to remove was surprising. Advertisement for dodgy websites, or outright scams. I did not expect to have to clean-up so much.
The future: I plan to try and advertise the sub a little again, though I welcome you to also share it on other subs. I'd like to keep this slow-and-steady growth, and hopefully get people interested in sharing their own experiences!
On a personal level I plan to keep writing about my own experiences, of course. Though I both need to be in the right mindset for it, and have something interesting to tell. Writing just to say I needed to pee for an hour and couldn't gets boring quickly, afterall.
