So as I've explored on this sub before, my dom would sometimes punish me, more or less harshly, for certain bad behaviour. At times I would also be told to wait a little, just as a small reminder of who was in charge.

But this is a bit different. Sometimes I would get punished, including harshly, for no reason; my dom called these the "Just because" denial [literally translates to "because yes"]. Now, they never were the result of "bad mood" on the part of my dom, or them being actually angry at me - in fact they tended to happen when they were in a rather good mood. For example:

My dom was sitting in the living room, around 17-18h, reading smth. I was walking past them when they smiled at me, and we locked eyes. I blushed a little, and asked:

- Yes?

- I love you very much you know [smilling]

- Oh, me to!

- You're not pooping tonight. [big smirk]

- Huh? Why?

- Just because

-...

- You haven't done so yet today, right?

- Yes

- Perfect.

- But...

- [kind laughter]

And of course an hour or so latter I got an urge to go. I asked my dom to go, and they said "Oh, what did I say? No no no, you can't [wagging finger]". I ended-up most of the evening feeling full, needing to go - feeling always the pressure inside. I asked a few more times, and was denied until nearly bedtime at around 23h. That evening I had to hold it for 4h, normally a pretty mean punishment [I get pretty intensely desperate after <30min, punishment for number two don't generally go past an hour]. It was bad. Yet my dom was delighted; there are safewords, and they make sure to ask if I was doing alright, evidently.

These "just because" punishments were fairly rare, but they had something special about them. It wasn't about D/S as much as my dom "feeling like it". Sometimes they were also used to try new punishments, before using them as actual punishments (which adds to the "very mean" nature of it, as my dom was very ... creative ... and scary).
