Edging before pumping?

I’ve been using bathmate for a few months now. I typically go in with a full erection and can maintain it throughout the session. I usually pump for two sets of 7-8 min with a 3 min break or 1 set of 10 min 4 days a week. Tried going in flaccid but seem to get an erection after the first set. I was thinking of edging before pumping and wonder if anyone had success with it.
