I went to a local store today. I got there a little early because I was expecting a rush, but there wasn't one. They had a ton of candles 75%
I brought my receipt from one week ago (6/19) At That Store, when I'd gotten a few 3 wicks for 11.95 and several single wicks for 5.95. All those 3 wicks are currently 10.95, and the single wicks are all marked 75% off.
I have never asked for a price adjustment before. I've never wanted to be annoying, especially at such a busy time. But so many people post here about it, so it doesn't seem like a big deal, and I figured the price difference would be worth a couple extra minutes.
When she rang up my candles, the cashier was super friendly. Then I mentioned that I had my receipt from last week, and a lot of stuff had gone 75% off, so could I get a price adjustment? She instantly turned steely and shut me down. She said I'd need to bring everything back, return them, and re-buy them. I instantly felt like a terrible person who was trying to abuse the system, Which is Exactly Why I've Never Asked for an Adjustment Before. Ugh.
