Craig Biggio is the only player in MLB history to play 162 (or more) games in a regular season and avoid hitting into a double play
Post Body

Other weird things I found while looking at the individual baseball reference stats page of several players who played 162 games were;

2nd place in double plays was Grady Sizemore who played 162 games for Cleveland in 2006 and grounded into 2 double plays.

3rd place was... Grady Sizemore who played 162 games in 2007 and grounded into 3 double plays. No one else grounded into fewer than 5 in a single full season

Jimmy Barrett was the only player before 1961 to have 162 games played in a regular season and they didn't have double play stats then so he may have too but I doubt it. 272 162 game seasons came after 1961 and only Jimmy did it before then

I was gonna wait until the off-season to post this but it seemed cool and it's Saturday so please enjoy your local shitpost
