Home field advantage in the World Series in the 1930's

In the 1934 World Series, AL team was the team with the most home games, but this was true for the 1935 World Series as well. I thought that prior to that one strike, the NL team had the advantage in even numbered years and the AL team in odd numbered years. What happened in 1935 where the AL repeated having the home field advantage?
