Wanted to see if someone can give me thoughts on a ruling from a game I was in last night.
Post Body

Runners on first and 3rd, I was up and hit a line drive straight into the runners chest while he was standing on 3rd base (no lead).

I took 2 cautious steps towards first (fair ball) and saw my teammate drop to a knee and clutch his chest.

I looked at the ump and he called “time”. I dropped to a knee and waited.

My teammate was fine, I asked the ump, “so what’s the call” he said, “I’m going to give you 1B”

Well the other team argues that since I never touched 1st I was out, (they never tagged first and by this time I was already there on the bag)

The umpire agreed, and I was called out.

I told him this was BS because I looked at him as he literally called time. I wouldn’t never be able to be on the base by then.

What’s the actual ruling here?

Edit: looks like the MLB rule is runner out for interference, batter takes first on the dead ball, runner to 2nd.

I should have ran to first and then stopped but I thought I killed my dude, so I didn’t.
