Okay there is “tasting” , “sipping” , “drinking” , “drunking” , and retard level “none of the above?”.

I was a New hire in a new staff in a newly reopened resort! Sky’s the limit, right?

While Not new to bartending, it’s been a minute and I’m gunshy. I mostly gained experience in a dive bar , cracking open pbr’s . Fast forward and have since been serving in fine dining/ bistro type local restaurants. I became disheartened.. and then became voluntarily unemployed .

SO I get this job offer- And the idealistic me thinks: this opportunity is a great opportunity and I think I can make this work !

ON MY 3rd shift in, last day training im working with this amazing bar mgr who really gets it. He also knowingly hired me based on my look, willing to properly train me to his standards so I could be his Rocky Balboa someday. Unfortunately for he and I that day was his last- he had a brand new hire (like just filled out her 1-9 paper kinda new) file a whopper of a sexual harassment accusation w/ casino HR. and, just like that, dude is gone. GONE. Not only am I now w/o the guy who knew my situation, hired me anyway, and had a vision for this bar that I was 100% on bored with, but I am also the sole witness in a sexual harassment investigation I can’t even begin to tell you just should NOT be happening.

Now I’m in a precarious position, but decide to move forward, unemotional and just for the experience if nothing else.

…But things are not going well. Things are not going well! My drinks are perfect but slow. My training extended way too long, almost to haze me. I’m broke. I finally get a shift where I’m solo captain of this daytime vessel . It’s slow. Slllllow. I FINALLY get a good group at the bar. Drinkers, tippers, great energy. The Lady wants an iced coffee something special and new. While trying to make a strong soy like flavor disappear in the Vietnamese coffee creation Im working on I pour a taster for each of us/ so as to ponder my Cointreau flavor profile and what is right about this awful drink?!?! I toss the drink after 1 good sip.

I just got terminated for this . I just got terminated for misconduct and I painfully laid out the details here folks so you might understand- I’m so pissed. I’m not sure where To go. I was NOT drinking to get drunk. Now what?
