I have only been bar backing since the end of October and I have an interview at another establishment. Its a new Italian restaurant opening. on the job posting it said bartending experience preferred so I went for it expecting not to hear back.
I will basically be winging it, since my current establishment doesn't train us up, because they dont have male bartenders. I worked as a barista for a long time, and am great with customer service. I have also been educating myself as much as I can on my own along with paying attention at work. Im hoping to sell myself on my trainability and customer service skills.
What are some things you would recommend I make sure I know before the interview? I won't manufacture experience, but just things to make sure of so I dont come across as extremely bar ignorant. Of course any and all advice is welcome.
I should also add that I'm currently in a cast from a cracked wrist I received at my current position. It should be off in only a couple of weeks, even possibly as soon as Friday. Its also the reason Im leaving because my current job gave me a very hard time with it, along with the lack of upward mobility.
