First Barback job at a twin peaks (I wanna bartend someday)

Now quite obviously the peaks doesn't have male bartenders, but they do barbacks. Ive never worked in a bar, let alone a breastrant. Any tips for a new guy ? or how long I should stay here until I start looking for bartending gigs?
