Was chatting with an owner that switched to paper straws a few months back - yeah, everyone hates them for their texture so straw usage has gone down a bit. What has ALSO gone down is clogged drains.
She was saying that since the switch, she has not had to call a plumber or spend hours on a drain clogged with straws. Apparently, he grease trap also doesn't have to be cleaned out as often because of this.
While i do prefer plastic straws, I also would rather never clean out another grease trap in my life - or watch a video of turtles that look like they're doing too much cocaine.
If the above are issues you deal with at your bar, consider making the switch!
