Chicago native moving to your city looking for advice. Trying to find a good area to live and a bit of info on what I can expect from the job market out there.

My girlfriend and I are moving to L.A. next spring, we're both industry vets having served, bartended, and managed all over Chicago and Nashville from dive bars to cocktail bars, breweries to chef driven restaurants.

More than anything I'm trying to find out what neighborhoods are best for restaurant industry people to live (also where to go) and how much I can expect to make.

Also when is the best time of year there to get hired. I'd imagine it's much different than Chicago.
