Hello fellow bartenders! 12 year vet here looking for some advice. I've spent much of my bartending career working for places with a storied history (60 year old dive bars, iconic Chicago comedy clubs) or a cool concept (beer bars, cocktail bartending) but I always find myself wanting things to be way way busier. On those instances where I find myself in a balls to the wall, get your dick kicked in kind of night I'm in damn near pure ecstasy. I find myself reveling in the high that comes from being 3 or more deep. It's not the money, I've worked in plenty of places that have sent me home with full pockets, although it certainly doesn't hurt when it happens. Maybe it's the satifaction of weathering the storm, I donno.
So on that note, does anyone have any suggestions on where I should be looking? The only types of bartending I haven't done are festival and club bartending? Am I missing out on something or is it just a matter of hunting the high volume jobs down?
