New-ish to League (about 2 months now) and have been consistently playing Bard since I first picked em up about 2 weeks in. While I haven't been playing for a long time, I've managed mastery 6 with the wandering caretaker, and am always trying to improve my game.
As a support do people find going AP or full support build the better option? In ranked I'm hovering consistently in the Silver IV - V range, and it's often a mixed bag whether my teammates will capitalize on my ult, or magical journey. I'd say half the time I land a sweet ult people will use it as an opportunity to escape (rather than position to engage) as I expect, or they'll run right past a magical journey that would have easily carried them to safety during a fight. As such I've started considering the AP Bard route. At least then I can try to be the play maker and the executioner as it were. The problem with this is the rage of people who think that supports MUST take Redemption or Locket (I always take vision even if I try an AP build).
So yah... stuck in this place where I want to try some different things because I think it may help my win rate, but tilting your own team because you don't conform to what they think is a good support is also a problem. Is this an ELO thing, or do others find they get harassed for trying AP support Bard?
