Hi, not sure if this is the best section for this but my sister requires a monitor for both WFH and personal use. One of the most important things she requires is that it be good re eyestrain and has the option to either disable blue light or filter/reduce it.
She just has a normal clerical/admin office role so uses the usual programs such outlook, word, excel and the like.
For personal use, she is not a gamer and mainly just does internet browsing and the odd video call.
Ideally she'd prefer to spend under $250 but doesn't want to exceed $300. She'd prefer to use it long term, i.e. at least 4 years if it lasts that long.
Note that her laptop is about 2 years old and is a Lenovo Ideapad S145 with Intel UHD graphics 620, Windows 10.Has a HDMI port to connect the monitor. I think it's probably HDMI 1.4. She could get a new laptop next year but if she does it would probably only be around the $1000 range.
Essentials:
- A brand name, e.g. one that could be purchased from a Sydney retail store such as Good guys (also happy to buy online direct from Manufacturer if cheaper)
- Around a 24 inch screen size
- Option to turn off blue light or at least reduce/filter it
- Must be good for eyestrain since will be used for WFH- FHD resolution- Flicker-free
Nice to haves:
- Adjustable – i.e. tilt and swivel and height
- Built in webcam (for video chat)
- 2k resolution and refresh rate greater than 60 hertz (if they will help re eyestrain and future-proofing)
If anyone has any suitable models they can recommend it would be greatly appreciated.
