Post Body

Hi all,

I'm planning to upgrade my XPS 9560 storage to 1TB and bought the 970 Evo Plus on Ebay for $152 when there was a deal earlier in the week. Main usage would be to install more games whilst I wait to build a gaming desktop later on. The image shown seemed to indicate it had the old Phoenix controller.

However, today, when the box arrived, I actually received the newer version of the 970 Evo Plus with the Elpis controller. I'm not sure whether this version is suitable for laptops since there were reports that temps were higher than the original and speeds would be nerfed significantly if you ate into the SLC cache compared to the older version.

Should I use it for my laptop or should I return the SSD?
