Hey
Building a new pc. First one. It'll be multi use machine light gaming (overwatch, playstation and Xbox emulators mostly, maybe some racing games but not fully blown sim - I'm too poor) and a media server (currently Plex but likely migrating to Jellyfin).
I've picked up a 12500 i5, and a tuf gaming plus b760.
I have 32gb Corsair vengeance ddr5 here.
I'll be reusing the following from my current computer:
PSU - XFX XTR 650 80 plus gold. Boot drive - 1tb M2 nvme SSD with Win11 pro Storage - 4tb 3.5in HDD, 1tb 2.5in HDD, 1tb 2.5in SSD, 500GB SSD SAS controller
I'm looking at the Antec P101 Silent mid tower case - I want the easy expansion for drives that this provides as well as it being pretty much black box - I've no need or want for flashing lights.
GPU wise, I'm wanting to utilise hardware accelerated transcoding for the media server which basically limits me to NVIDIA chipsets so was looking at the 3050 series. But I'm wondering if maybe I should wait and hold out until the 50 series is released and maybe pick up a 40 series cheap. Or is that wishful thinking and manufacturers are going to do what they did with the 40s and create an artificial scarcity?
Anyway I'm still not opposed to picking up a 30 series. I'm also open to the second hand market.
I'm just unsure what to look for to be honest and don't want to get ripped.
