1st string to close to the edge?

I've been playing for over a year now and still mostly use my epiphone mb-100. I've noticed pretty quickly noticed the 1st string sits very close to the right edge and goes over it. I couldn't fix it by placing my bridge to the left, it kinda just pulls itself to the right. Honestly I got no problem playing it but still wanted to know if I could do anything? Thinking about just buying a better quality banjo, bc it fairly quickly is out of tune as well...
