When I was a teenager, I wasn't very helpful to others. But there were few incidents where I did help.
One such was when I was traveling home in the morning and there was a school going kid who boarded the bus, stood near my seat but didn't have money for the ticket. She was worried and asked me. I gave her the money. Then asked if she wants extra to return back in the evening. She told no and that her teacher would give her. I was happy to see her go to school.
Yesterday I was traveling in Namma metro. I had got seat. A couple with a small kid boarded. When the metro moves initially, the acceleration would cause a pull and the father kind of stumbled, didn't fall or anything. I wanted to offer him my seat. As I got up, other elder person was rushing to sit down. He wasn't that old, looked like a healthy uncle who can stand. I called out for the father holding the kid. He couldn't hear my faint voice. I asked another person whose shoulder I could reach to call him. Made sure the parent come near my seat and then only moved away. Now the mother sat with the kid.
Isn't it the small things we do like this make us happy? It's not much. But definitely made me happy and probably their day too. Felt like a good Samaritan and thought in my mind that I earned 10x in this game of life :)
Y'all have a good night
