Since I’ve been reading a lot about cops fucking with people for no apparent reason I want to share my experience. I have to renew my passport every 2-3 years because I run out of pages since I travel a lot for work. Last week I got a text message from Kadugodi police station regarding verification after my new passport had already been delivered to me. I called the number immediately, they said they wanted some documents so I took all the documents (old passport photocopy, aadhar card, passport application documents etc.,) to the police station.

After submitting the documents the cop asks for ‘fees’. I was more surprised because he straight up asked for ‘payment’ in front of three other police officers in uniform for something he’s supposed to do it for free. He said he hasn’t seen my old passport so he can’t verify these documents. He also said if he won’t verify, my new passport will not be valid lol I was so pissed at him I wouldn’t want to give him a single rupee even if what he said was true. I told him I will be flying outside india next week and wanted to test his theory so I just left the police station.

Never give these leeches a single paise. The truth is they can’t fuck with you even if they want to in most cases

P.S. I did not face any problems when I took the international fight few days ago
