Hey all! I just wanted to post because I’ve finally found a band that I’m happy In. Im a bass player.

So, my last band. . .Wasn’t great. I started it with my friend from elementary school and we soon got a full band together (we were all around 15). We started out as sort of a classic rock thing but over time we evolved into a Pop-Punk act a-la bowling for soup. However, the thing is, No one ever took the band seriously. We’d usually spend about an hour actually practicing and then just goof off and fuck around in our neighborhood for the rest of the time. This wasn’t really a problem in itself, but the problem came when it was time to start doing gigs. We were NOT ready to start playing out, but the rest of the guys just thought we’d be fine.

We were not. . . All of our shows basically sucked ass. After the first one I told the guys that we needed to get our shit together, but they wouldn’t really listen to me. Also, our singer hated singing and also hated me, but that’s another story.

So long story short, after a hilariously shitty performance, I decided to quit. Looking back, this was the best move I could’ve taken, because it led me to join a new band that I absolutely love!

These new guys are a punk/ grunge act, theyre actually a few years older than me. Our practices are SO much more efficient, and after a few weeks I’ve already started gigging out with them (we gig out like twice a week). I still have to work my way through some of their backlog, but my god is it so much better. I also feel like my bass playing has gotten better now that I’ve been gigging out.
