So my friends band is finishing up their debut album in the studio, and I’m going to be helping run social medias, doing photography and videography, but most importantly I’m gunna be helping find and book gigs. We’re going to start off playing very small solo gigs, probably at houses, pop up places, or local bars and such if we’re lucky. Then we’ll move on to playing with other bands, but this is where I need help. How do you go about working/ talking with these other bands to play with? Also how to find pop up shows at houses and parks and such. I know I could find other local bands and message them on socials, or try to go to local shows and talk, but is this the right way to do it? Basically, just very newbie to all this and any advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!
