Hey everyone, this is gonna be a bit of an unusual post lol.
So I’m in high school, and I also do competitive ballroom Latin dancing. This summer, I have access to a very advanced laboratory, with a bunch of stuff. There is a national/statewide science fair coming up, which is very prestigious.
Here is the thing: I want to combine dance and science, and research something to present and maybe publish in journal. I have about 6 or so months before the fair, so I am ready to really dive in. For anyone in the science field, how can I combine these two things, and think of a solution to a problem that people in ballroom dance may have?
The idea should ideally be pretty complex, because normally all the winning projects are incredibly brilliant.
For example here are some 2023 winners:
Sip Sustainably: The Rheology and Durability of Single-Use Environmentally Friendly Alternatives for Plastic Straws
An Under-Actuated Fast-Running Bipedal Lizard Robot With Optimized Lateral Bending First Place Awards
Control System for an Autonomous Sailboat TalkToMe: An Application That Better Detects and Handles Suicidal Situations on Social Media Through ML
Attenuating Social Isolation-Induced Sickness Behavior in D. melanogaster using Minocycline
Using Machine Learning to Predict how a Nickel-Metal Hydride Battery Degrades
The Electrolytic Extraction of Dawsonite from Ocean Water: Efficient Saltwater Mineral Recovery through Electrolysis
Achieving Precision in Autonomous Rocket Landings with Convolutional Neural Networks and Model Predictive Control Algorithms
Yeah, so pretty crazy stuff. Can anyone help me brainstorm? Feel free to DM me!
