Post Body

I have an almost 3 month old BP. I had him in a 10gal with a heat mat, but the 10gal just seemed too small so I moved him to a 20gal and situated the heat mat under his warm hide (outside the tank of course). The heat mat wasn't keeping that side warm enough though, my thermometer said the warm side was 80°. So, I just went and got a heat light to add. It says now that the warm side is almost 90.

My question is: Should I remove the heat mat from the warm side since the light is keeping everything so much hotter? Is it gonna make it too hot in his hide with the mat in addition to the light?

I'm new to snakes so I'm really just trying to make sure he's happy. 😅
