Hey guys,
looking for some ideas of inspiration on what you have seen or may have done to automate humidity control in your BP enclosures? I live in a rather dry state, and we are currently spraying the cages and substrate down about every other day to try and keep it in line with the 60% target, but that makes it difficult and is time consuming.
Looking around I can see I could build an misting kit with a pump/nozzles - is that the typical way to go? Do you just run it on a timer that mists multiple times a day or as needed? Or have you invested in a more sophisticated controller?
For reference we are using a PVC cage, 2*4*18, heating is coming from a RHP on the roof of the cage that is controlled by a herpstat (we have herpstat 2 controlling both cages, and it has worked out amazingly so far) - we are using the ecoearth substrate currently.
I see that the herpstat that I have is listed to be able to control humidity as well, but I am unsure if I need a different probe, or if the probe that comes with it can do both (depending on the setting)
thanks in advance for any advice or direction you can give.
