I posted here a month ago about me and my partner adopting a 3 year old ball python named Hadassah from his sibling and that she wasn't in the best health due to poor husbandry. We have since read all the guides here as well as in two Facebook groups (not just a pet rock and reptile lighting) that go into a bit more detail on certain topics, and ordered everything. We also ordered a new enclosure but unfortunately it still won't be here for another few weeks (they unfortunately had a 4 week lead time so only now is ours being made). We have fixed what we can in her current enclosure for now though including fixing the humidity with proper substrate. We also brought her to another vet and she got needed antibiotic injections for her respiratory infection and this vet is very knowledgeable and keeps up with the latest best care options so he confirmed what we were getting was perfect. So far Hadassah has taken the injections like a champ, eaten for us twice, and now has shed! She has no stuck shed and is shiny and her scales feel great and she's active. The only sign that it might not be perfect yet is her shed skin wasn't in one piece, it was moreso in like 20 pieces. But it's still way better!! We also ordered her a wooden climbing triangle meant for human toddlers for enrichment and exercise outside her enclosure! It's made out of wood (and we checked it's not any harmful woods) and is the perfect size for her. We are already very attached to Hadassah and are wanting to give her the best life possible!
